A streak of blue blur zips past you. “Holy molten yam showers, it’s Miss Destucto” you think to yourself, “we’re all safe now!”
After watching Miss Destructo’s impact on 4/16, also known as “Four Square Day” and seeing her meteoric rise within Social Media, I fully expect Miss Destructo to be a respected and in demand figure in the shaping of the future of social media.
Miss Destructo’s story is an interesting one of unemployment, a passion for yams, and energy, lots of energy. I first learned of Amber a few months ago thanks to Trey Pennington’s post and audio interview on how Amber got a job in this stinky economy. Listen to her Yam-tastic story or watch her tell it herself on video, or read the yampossible blog post here.
As you can see, yams are a bit more popular today than they were a year ago when she first started tweeting about it! In the last three months, @brucesyams has grown from 61 followers to 368 followers as of today. Not bad for a can of yams!
What Miss Destructo Does (that you can do too).
- Lives out-loud and in-front of people
- Connects individually one-on-one
- Follows her passion and heart
- Says “yes” to opportunities, PR, and projects
- Shows up, every day, even when its bad weather (emotionally)
- Continues to learn, grow and share
- Helps others
Thanks for being you Amber, I hope others follow your path and change the world by 2012.

I cannot thank you enough. This was VERY awesome surprise to show up in my google alerts. So if the world is supposed to end in 2012 I guess i'll have a good year of reign.
Till then I hope the blushing goes down… THANK YOU.
No reason to blush! Keep doing what you do, it's good for all of us.
(but if the world does end in 2012, save a place in your underground bunker for me and my family *grin*)

Aw – what a cute story! Go for it, Amber. Glad I visited Justin's blog and read your story (and watched your video).
